My AprilLove is trained to go in the litterbox with a peepad in the litterbox, instead of litter, that way it is contained. I tried the doggy litter, but she preferred to play with that
I started her training at nine weeks taking her in there every 20 to 30 minutes and after naps, playing and eating. She was a little poop and pee machine the first 3 weeks. She is now 16 weeks and has been going to the litter box consistently for almost 2 weeks. I have two litterboxes set up in the house, and she now knows where they both are and goes to the closest one at the time. She will RUN (zoom zoom) to it when she has to poop, it is so cute
I praise her every time she goes, profusely praise her
. I like using the litter box, because there is no chance of leaking off the side of the pad, once they go in there consistently, then it is just a matter of changing the pads. She does not like to have more than two poops in there though, so I make sure it gets changed frequently. I am also using the adult stay at home piddle pads now as they are better at absorbing the odor.
