Me again - I started this thread. My pup is around 8 1/2 pounds with large ears that stand straight up. And - I know his ears weren't shaved as a pup.
But it was the even larger Yorkies (more than 8 or 9 pounds) that I've notice almost always having floppy ears.
Whatever! Just something I've noticed - and apparently a lot of you have too.
