My little Yorkie is 8 1/2 pounds (still very small) and I really don't have to worry a lot about him. He can get on and off any furniture in my house - so I don't need to worry about this.
Of course, I'm careful when I carry him around - but no more than I would be with a baby or little child.
I know that people with "the very small little Yorkies" do seem to worry a lot and have to be much more careful with them.
