Welcome to YT and I applaud you for getting to know everything you can BEFORE you get your Yorkie!! Good things about Yorkies are so numerous, I can't even begin to name them, although you probably already know alot of them by reading through the posts. My dogs have never had any mats whatsoever, but they both have silky coats and that has alot to do with it. They get brushed at least every other day, but it's really not a huge burden. They just don't mat easily. The bad stuff..hmmm...I think the thing I'm having the most trouble with is not to spoil them rotten. Scout has the idea that he's the Protector of the House and barks at people and things outside all the time. We are trying to break him of that. Pippa is always underfoot because she wants to be right next to me all the time. You have to watch where you are going!! They also can be a bit costly in the Vet department if they have any problems. For some reason, I can't bring myself to wait things out with them, so we go to the vet pretty quickly with most things. I also have to pay for teeth cleaning twice a year under anesthesia which is about $150.00 a pop. By far the good outweighs the bad with them! THey are totally addicting.
