I am sorry about your scary experience with Kirby, and I am glad you are both safe and sound

I wanted to say that I too don't use a retractable leash for Georgie. I like Georgie to be really close to me in case another dog comes close I can scoop him up quick. I have dropped his leash before when he gets tangled up in it and he never even knows I did. I might be a little paranoid but I believe he has about a 3 foot of leash(if that) and he doesn't seem to mind at all.
