Okay guys I've just joined this thread after getting my test results back this past Friday, and my thyroid is now testing normal. LOL, Yay, here's my story:
About two years ago I went from my normal 125 lbs to 105 Lbs (I'm 5'2) in like a month. . . and had other weird symptoms -- dry mouth, headaches, insomnia. Anyway after running tests I was diagnosed with hyper thyroidism. I had to go through some radiation, and drug treatment that was supposed to put things back to normal. To say the least they 'killed' my thyroid (this is how the Dr termed it), and I had hypothyroidism, and began to gain weight like crazy. (BTW, my thyroid wasn't actually dead; it just wasn't producing T4 correctly anymore; that Dr. is no longer my Dr., lol) Well, after much drug therapy, and a couple Drs. I've been off all the drugs for 90 days now, and I just got the test results that my thryroid is producing in a normal zone! Basically my thyroid was damaged, but I'm one of the lucky ones that I eventually healed.
Which means my Dr. has approved me going on a diet and workout regime that will help get rid of 65 lbs that I have gained through all this. So today I began a diary, and tomorrow I begin walking in the mornings. I've been browsing this thread and ya'll have a lot of great advice and information. So officially I hate to put this in writing, but I'm 192 lbs, and my goal is to be back down to my normal 125 lbs that I had always maintained easily until two years ago. |
