I have hypothyroidism too. I've known for about 4 years or so and once you start taking the meds you're on them for life. I take synthroid and I met with a specialist once and he told me to NEVER take the generic brand. Just a bit of advice I thought that I'd pass along. You have to make sure that you take your meds every day and have your levels tested at least once a year. Before I found out that I had this I had the coldest winter ever. My hands and feet were so cold and I even had trouble warming the bed up when I would go to bed. That was the worst symptom for me. This also makes you have a slow metabolism and so weight gain is usually a problem. I know for me, I'm not very energetic and I have a huge problem with my weight. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. |
