So I just leave the two straps connected that attach it to the seats and slide it back and down into the backseat area. Then when I need it, I slide it back up and attach the front belt to the console. I also put a folded up towel under it because my console has that indention and slopes down a little.

Well, I don't really need to slide it back as I use it as a holder for my purse and it does not bother me it being there. Because it is a pain to take them off I do put one of Tiger's blanket over so I don't have to ever launder it if it ever gets messed up or dirty. Mine slopes down a bit too.
