I think the most important factor is identifying a good breeder. I did not get to choose Mason out of a litter. He was the only boy in a litter of 3. Plus the breeder was in Ohio and I live in NY so I did not pick him up. He was shipped to me. I saw him for the first time at the airport

That said, Mason is extremely friendly, sociable, loyal, and mild-tempered. I'm sure puppies have different personalities at birth, but it also depends a lot on how they are raised at early stages of their lives (up to 12 weeks). I knew that Mason had loving human parents who cared very much about raising great puppies. And he turned out to be a great puppy indeed
(well, other than chewing my specs to pieces )

I would guarantee though, that you will fall in love with whatever puppy you choose!! You just can't help it
