Smile Make COME a game!

Oh my, Wosie is so good at it now! Of course, I am a briber, and not everyone goes for that, but here's how I did it!

I had her on a short leash, had her sit, and then down/stay.

Then I walked to the end of the leash, said "Wosie COME" in a really happy happy voice, gave a gentle tug on the leash, and she came to me! I also make her sit when she gets to me, and then I praise praise praise, and give her a tiny bit of a treat.

Anything I train I do it in 10 to 15 minute increments. Too long and you lose their interest. Just do it multiple times a day.

As I got her to come without tugging on the leash, I released her from the leash. (indoors only) Now I can walk as far away from her as possible, and she will come to me. I now use hand signals, (arm out to the side, sweep hand to chest for come), and she comes to that as well. And I also call her multiple times during the day when she is out of my line of sight and she comes to me.

I don't know if she would do it outside without a leash. I would be afraid to try. I would have to practice that at a dog park or some type of enclosure.

Good luck! Be friendly, happy, and make coming to you the happiest thing for your pup to do, and they will WANT to come to you!
