[COLOR=Blue]Hope poopless puppy is now pooping puppy!! Seriously, DO NOT use mineral oil or any stimulant or lubricant (mineral oil helps poo slide thru intestines) on a puppy so young. Also, do not put soap in the water for the enema. It is very irritating, that is how it works. If you decide to give an enema, as YorkieRose said use a syringe and give about 1-2mls and make sure you use PLENTY of Surgical jelly or vaseline on the syringe. I wonder what about the formula is causing the problem. Does it need to be adjusted in some way?
I have given small amts of nutri-cal and that will help. But nothing works all the time.
Has this baby been constipated on a regular basis since you have been feeding it? If so, the vet should see the wee one and check it. Soem puppies are born with congenital problems and I have seen a Maltese baby who had severe problems. Make sure everything that you use to rub its bum is warm..cotton balls soaked in warm water or warmed baby oil is good to try. If mom is only half-heartedly licking, put s little nutrical on the baby's butt and mom will lick that off and maybe stimulate the puppy. Gosh, I hope the vet has a solution to the problem..I am concerned about this baby and wonder if it has a problem with its digestive system..Please keep us in the loop..
