Not here to criticize anyone. But whether people realize it or not, there are puppy mills selling straight to people too. I know but can't prove it but the lady is running a puppy mill. She keeps all the parent dogs in this kennel, it looks run down and dirty from the outside, they won't let you see inside. When you go to see the puppies you have to have an appt and when yu get there, there are dozens of people roving the yard where they take like maybe 50 baby puppies, different breeds in different little fences set up. She wont let yu see the parents of any. I didnt realize what kind of thing was going on until I bought a puppy from her. I'd never heard of puppy mills. (i've never been into puppies a lot, altho ive owned a few). So that was about 3 yrs ago. I paid 250 for a maltepoo, I will never believe that puppy was maltepoo even tho she was pretty. But she grew and I couldnt keep her as he was way too hyper. never still a minute, constantly chewing up things, even door facings. SO I gave him to a young girl whos little girl just lost a mutt puppy. But I explained him being hyper, altho the dog was smart about tricks and stuff that I taught him. She and I both thought maybe she needed a child who would run and play with her a lot. Anyway, I had got a number this year for a yorkie, I called it and low and behold it was her number I realized. I just ask her about the yorkies and if she had the mother and daddy on site. Very abruptly she said, "yes, I do but I DON'T have to show the puppies parents, hung up the phone and every time i called back she wouldnt answer her phone. Seems she got scared of something to me like maybe I was someone cking her out. Don't ask me why, because that was all that was said, but why else would she not talk to me? She when I called back, i'm sure she had caller ID and saw it was me was why she wouldnt answer her phone. And the pup i did buy from her a few years ago, when I went to get it, everyone there to get puppies had a form to fill out. It wanted our address, phone number, License plate number, ss number and dang near our life history. I difinite didnt think ANY of this was her business but I did fill in the name and address because I didnt care but no way would i give her my DL number, license plate number and my ss number. Another lady came over to me showing me her application and ask if i put all that on it, I told her no way. I felt so strange there buying that puppy. Something difinitely didnt feel right and I will always think it wasnt right. I would never buy another puppy from her. Then later I heard she had been closed down a few years before for running a puppy mill. That is the first time ive ever heard of puppy mills.
Also the actual lady selling the dogs never came out, she had young girls showing the pups and they told us all, we could pick up the puppies and hold them but we were not to put them down on the ground for any reason. Is this strange to anyone else? And does it sound like a puppy mill?
My sister went with me, she said she had bought several more dogs than I had and she had never seen such. eh, I still think it was something wrong there. Exactly what, i'm not sure.
