When I was 8 I ran across someones Toy Poodle running down our street... She or he was black, needed to be groomed and was salivating and panting like mad... I thought she was hot and thirsty... it was summer in Palm Springs.... I leaned over to pet the dog and WHAM! She bit me square in the belly!!! She thrashed around a bit and broke free, taking a Piece of me with her as she ran away!!!!
There I was 8, in my tube top, OP shorts, bleeding down my legs and sobbing and in shock! My mom had poodles for as long as I could remember! They never did that!
hours later in the ER they are talking Rabies and how Animal control can't find the dog... I had to go through a major series of shots "just in case" Like being bitten was not enough!
To this day I am terrified to approach other peoples dogs and when I see my daughter do it I get sick to my stomach!
I think that along with the Drug prevention day in grade school they need to have a day where they teach animal safety!! But in Kindergarten!! and in first! and in second! lol
Thank you for sharing those Pictures with us, That had to be hard for you! But if someone learns from or is swayed by them... then you have made a difference! if just one Child is Spared that experaince... Wow... Thank you!! I'll be sitting my 10 year old down just as soon as she gets home to have her read this thread! I hate hearing " oh Mooom..."
