I don't know if this will help you or not - but this is what I did with Rowdy.

He didn't bark at all till he was about 5 months old - then he started barking AT US, anytime he wanted something or wanted attention. I was at my wits end.

We were camping in our trailer so the space was limited (meaning not far for him to run to get away). I had his harness on him. So, at my wits end with the barking and not having a clue as to what to do, I thought "what would his mom (canine) do if he were misbehaving". So, at the next bark, I grabbed him by the back of the harness (not roughly but quickly so that it really startled him) and shook him (again, not roughly but firmly enough so that it got his attention) and I said "NO" in a very loud, stern voice. He looked at me like i had lost my mind and ran to my husband and looked back at me with the same look. It was all I could do to not laugh out loud. When he was quiet for a few seconds, then I praised him. It only took me 3 shakes to get him to stop barking at us. Now, I won't say that he never barks, because he does bark at the lab next door, but all I have to do is look at him or say his name and he stops.
