In your case I don't think it's very fair. But I do get quite annoyed when my dad brings his dog around when it's been for a walk in the rain. The walls get filthy and I have to wipe them down etc

also they get really excited and jump all over my settee and it has a few scratches on it now. AND IT'S BRAND NEW !!

But in your case I think you are right to get upset
