Oh this is so sad. I'm so sorry for you. This poor little girl. Please don't berate yourself. You did the absolute best you could under the circumstances. Did you have a name in mind for her? Even though you never effectively 'had' her, perhaps it will make the grieving process better if you know that she had a name and that she was yours. I think she knew that she was loved and the staff in that shelter sound wonderful. So sorry again. Please let us know how you're getting along and I do hope you consider looking for another in time
