Puppies usually have floppy ears that go up and down for a while. (And, I think the "floppy little ears" are the cutest things in the world on a little puppy). And, they are so cute, it's no wonder we wouldn't mind them staying this way.
However, as my pup grew, I soon realized that one of the hallmarks of Yorkshire terrier is their "pointed erect ears." And, luckily, mine went up on their own to stay at four months.
But - if they hadn't, I, personally, would have done whatever I could to get them up. I really prefer them that way in an adult Yorkie.
