So sorry to hear about the little boy. I, personally, think a chance is better than none at all, but you know more about the situation. The puppy may have been younger than the rest and didn't have time for his lungs to fully develop. You can help prevent this in future litters by only breeding the dogs for the two optimal days instead of mating occuring for a longer time period.
