We had a yorkiepoo that hated baths. A friend insisted that she did not understand the word, that it was the tone of voice. Cause everytime she heard the word her ears would go down and she would go under the sofa.
So to test her, in the middle of a sentence of normal conversation, I would just add the word bath and she would put her ears down and hide. She also knew biscuit and ball and Betty, a friend that she loved.
They are pretty smart.
