Going home during lunch is a great idea. It's a great little r&r during a stressful work day. I used to do that too until my mom couldn't resist it anymore and started to take Aggie to work with her.

Cloth pads may be a good idea to prevent her from tearing up the pad. But, put some extra toys, i.e. Bully Sticks, Non-edible Nylbones, etc. I even found this treat expenser that you could record a message. Everytime she moves it, it'd say your recorded message. I'd keep them at her size too or else if she couldn't play with it, she wouldn't want it anymore.
