Both of mine will wear bows with no problem. Just make sure you are not pulling any hair and they shouldn't really even notice it after a while. I always put in a little rubber band first and attach the bow which has it's own rubberband or clip to the ponytail over the first rubberband. Maybe if they are not used to pony tails at all you should just put their hair up in a ponytail without a bow for a while so they get used to that first.
