A level four luxation would warrant surgery if the dog were mine. Dogs do not show pain until it worsens and by that time, the knee may be so damaged that surgery will not help and the treatment would be pain meds, anti inflammatory meds and really limited activity. Also, the older the dog the most possibility of complications from the surgery..JMO |
