My pup is 8-9 months old now --- and really "holds it" a lot longer - for hours. When they get older and can go longer without having to pee - this really does help with training.

Also - if I'm good and take my dog out ever couple hours, he almost never pees in the house. (I think of this as my being trained - not his being trained - because if I didn't take him out, he'd gladly pee anywhere in the house.)

And - even though he is still good - I often put a belly band on him when he's runing around the house - just in case (and at night - though he almost never pees during the night).

Good luck - at best, it's not easy!!!! But my routine certainly keeps the "pee damage down to almost "nothing."

And - I'm so glad summer is almost here. This will certainly help me be more willing to go outside a lot more. And my pup is already definitely spending more time outside.....this is good!
