In the puppy classes you are divided into groups by age. Out of the age group you are awarded 1st or 2nd place..

IF you are given 1st Place you move onto contention for Best in Breed.
IF you win Best of Breed you then move onto Best of Group
IF you win Best of Group you go for Best in Show.

So... in conclusion this is not a fun match it is a very important step of moving through the show process.

Hope this helps to understand the process a little more with the IABCA shows..
this is what I understood as well...your points are awarded at winners dog just like AKC but points can vary and move up.

for example your dog takes winners dog 2 points; progresses to best of breed and there was a 4 point major in the bitch class the winners dogs points will change to 4 points if he wins Best of Breed, then he progresses to Best of Group, if he wins that class and the highest major within that group was a 5 point then his points will change awarding 5 points.

Now if there was a 5 point major at the beginning (winners dog) your point structure will NOT change if he wins group, he is awarded title only.

lol I hope this is all correct anyone out there that sees any error's please post it, since I am a novice and learning the structure!
