I do agree with what you have all said. "A Child growing up being hit learns it's Ok to hit" came from a meeting we went to on Child Abuse.
Yes it is true they learn what we teach them. But we being good parents also teach our children respect. It's the children who don't learn from their parents
who become gang members, or are in trouble with the law.
I was never hit by my parents. But I did go to a school where the Nuns would
take a stick to you if you were bad in any way. Some parents do spank their children, but to have someone else do it is wrong. The schools can take away their Playtime, or a Field Trip, but to hit them I think thats wrong.
I have worked with abused children, we even adopted three of them. If you ask them they would want TV or Video games taken away, instead of being hit.
Not all parents know when to stop, and that's really sad. |
