I was raised in a home where I would be punished ruthlessly. Have I turned into the violent parent that I was raised with...No. My children at the most may get a pop on the behind once a year. My hubby says I'm a softy.

Now, my daughter went to a country school a couple of years ago. We had to sign a release form at the beginning of the school year that granted or denied corporal punishment by the principal. We moved to the city and they did way with corporal punishment years ago.

When I was in school, there was corporal punishment and kids had respect for their teachers. Now days, it's pure hell in most schools. The kids do not mind, they have zero respect.

Would I allow a principal to paddle my child? I guess it really depends on the circumstance. Paddling is not allowed without a phone call first to the parents and even if a release is signed, the parent has to give their consent.

Anyway, I'm through...okay...ready for my lashings now...
