Okay, so today I go into my local petstore to pick Baby up some more Merrick's. They had some little puppies right in an X-Pen as soon as you walk in...a Yorkie

, a Maltese, a Pomeranian , a s**tzu, and a Chihuahua. On a sign I saw: We Do NOT Buy Our Puppies From Puppymills.
Okay, for the question(s): I thought most (if not all) petstores bought their puppies from puppymills? If so, why are some advertising that their puppies don't come from puppymills? Isn't that false advertising? Illegal?

Or, do they think that just because they buy their puppies from a broker, that "technically" the puppies come from a broker, so in reality they are not really buying directly from a puppymill?
This really confuses me, because this is not the first petstore that I saw a sign like this. Did anyone else ever see signs like this? What do you all think of this? So, it's a lie, right?
