Both of mine are long silky coated,but I found that the soft nylon collers are not an issue,I keep mine with thier collers because I am so afraid they might sneek out the door and that way everyone know where they belong,no,they have never had a run-away yet,but they are my kids and I have to add that extra protection.
I also have heard of horriable accidents but for me its choosing what would be the choice of 2 bad situations,lost ofr accident
