I feel for you. Up until last year (when she died) I have a MIL like that. Once my dtr (her only real gchild) called from school from an asthma attack. Instead of calling my parents to see if they knew where I was, or going to get her she waiting hrs then called them. This after she routinely went to get my bil's live in gf's kids from school.
She hated me. That next day I got a pager so dd could get a hold of me. I was furious.
In my case, it was my sis in law who made a big deal about the price of Gypsy. NONE OF HER BUSINESS!
