New member (mommy) here and questions Hi all
Just thought I would introduce my new baby. I have been reading this forum for a week now and lots of good info. My yorkie is named AprilLove and she is 10 weeks old today and weighs 1 lb 6 oz. She is just the most wonderful little girl full of spunk and love. Well, I am sure I need not say more as all you mommys and daddys know this already! '
She is my third pup. I have a Bichon (male) and Maltese (female) I wonder if anyone can help me with the Maltese-yorkie relationship :-) Bitsy-Roo (maltese) is 10 years old and has been the boss and queen of the house for the last 10 years, (Bailey, the Bichon is 12 years old and knows Bitsy is the boss so no problem there). Well, she is very stand offish to the new baby and I think she is coming along a little bit, but she growls at her if she starts to play with her and Bitsy just keeps looking at me with those big black eyes when I have AprilLove in my lap. I am making sure to let Bitsy know she is still the boss and pay her equal attention, but just wonder if there is anything special I should be doing to help the relationship grow or just let them work it out by themselves? Bitsy has never bitten or had a mean bone in her body, but I get a little freaked when she snaps or growls at the baby.
Bitsy only weighs 5.5 lbs, but right now that seems like a giant compared to my new baby. I have them separated when I am not home and they are always under my supervision when I am home.
Sorry for the long post and I love this site! I am going to post a pick now on the my yorkie threads.
Thanks for reading
