Just talked to someone else who said her puppy had a rash too..she uses Benadryl and cortisone cream...just better check dosage with your vet. I agree that your doctor would not have done surgery if he saw a staph infection where he was going to operate! Rashes are a difficult diagnosis on humans but are very difficult on dogs! Our dog doesn't seem to be irritated...he does a lot of scratching though. I guess yorkies have lots of skin irritations and allergies? Good luck.
