I really think this was some good advice.
I am very sorry about Chester but it sounds like he isn't really able to enjoy his life that much any more due to his condition.
No one can tell you what to do with such a big decision like this. Just do whats in your heart and what you think is best for Chester.
My thoughts are with you.
