That must have been awful. I hate that sound. I got a stool at the foot of my bed for my older yorkie. I haven't let my babies sleep with me yet as they are not housebroken. I have seen the steps you can buy for them but they are so expensive. I am sure I can make one. That seems the way to go. They are so independent sometimes.
