My 12 wk old yorkie had his shoulder badly fractured while outside with my larger dog,he was probably stepped on while playing.This happens way more often than people think.Anyway he screamed so bad,he didn't stop screaming all the neighbours ran outside ,it was terrible.You couldn't touch it and there was no way he was putting weight on it.I rushed him off to the vet and they ended up putting a pin in his shoulder.A painful and expensive ($1500) lesson.
I'm worried about him developing arthritis and he will probably have another surgery to have the pin removed.Their bones break so easily and it's usually from a simple jump off a couch or bed or playing with a much larger dog.It's like having a 6 month old baby around ! |
