Awww, the poor baby. We had a puppy (I think she was around 7 months old) who broke her leg when I was little from jumping off the couch (seems to be a trend) -- my parents had to keep taking her back to the vet and getting the cast reset. Anyway, she ended up FINE and lived a very long and happy life. She kept up with me!
