Default Gus got sick on me.

We all went to my cousins to help her move into her new home. Gus was roaming around and having a good time. We went to go pick up some food and we noticed that there was a bee in the van. Gus caught it and started to eat it. All of a sudden he coughed it up. I thought it may have stung him. Right after that he started to vomit. He threw up what looks like almonds. There wasn't much that came up but he did vomit 2 more times after that and it was mostly yellow foam. I don't know how he got ahold of almonds. My cousing did have some almond clusters in the frig. Maybe one of the kids dropped a piece on the floor and Gus got ahold of it? I started to panic and pulled over to make sure he was ok. He was heaving quite a bit after that but nothing more came out. About an hour he was acting ok. He was running around and barking and playing. I gave him some water because he was very thirsty from playing. He held it down ok. But on the way home he started heaving again. Nothing came up. He seems fine at the moment. I did a search on Almonds and it was on the bad list of toxic food for dogs. I called the vet and they said to watch him. He hasn't wanted to eat at all since but is drinking. I gave him some Nutristat. How bad exactly are almonds? And how toxic are they?
