I called the vet this morning as soon as we got up and they don't think it is a reaction bc she has had advantix before they think it might be another cause and to keep an eye on her. It could be something else but just because she had it before without problems does not mean it wasn't the cause. Look at the poor Golden Retriever in the first link I posted. She was fine with the first two doses. It's the third that she had a reaction to and the vet had no idea, gave them no warning so they applied it a fourth time the next month causing a more severe reaction.
That is not uncommon. There are more stories just like that.
She has no irriation at the site, nor vomiting or seizing so they said that can't be it but howcome her freaking out started about 10 mintues after i applied it? Trust your gut. Luckily, it was mild but what you described are symptoms of a reaction to these products.
I called the number on the advantix box to report it last night and they said to me that these were unusual side effects and kinda could care less. This is not surprising at all. Deny, Deny, Deny! That's big business for you. They know it happens. They have reimbursed vet fees when pushed.
Vets can misdiagnose it and on top of that many times the reactions aren't reported so the companies can keep saying it's unusual and uncommon.
I hope Lexi is feeling better today. |
