We have a parakeet and Diesel HATES that bird! See "birdie" isn't locked in his cage. we leave the door open and he crawls in and out of his cage. When he wants to stretch his wings then he will fly around the room and then back to the cage. ( I said EWWW! too. Apparently he can't fly and pop at the same time! LOL) Birdie seems to love Diesel but the feeling is not mutual. Diesel will try to catch him while he is flying. I would be very careful! Parrots can do major damage if given the chance! We used to have a Quaker. He was 4 when we got him and he never came out of his shell. He actually started getting mean. My dd saw this little parakeet that she had to have. Well when we brought Birdie home "polly" got out of his cage made his way over to "birdies" cage and managed to get a hold of his toe and just about bit it off. It took for ever to get the bleeding to stop. My point is if you get one just keep a close eye on them and things should be fine. I just thought I would chime in and let you know that Diesel does not like birds!
