If it is a mouse don't worry. They typically do not bite. And when they do it's a very small, non hurtful bite(feels like very small pinch),But I'm not saying to handle this one in particular because it is wild and you don't know what it could or could not be carrying. I wouldn't let your precious pup get to it either as it may have ingested something harmful.

I work with small pets, but they are all domesticated. So with that being said be very cautious with your little critter friend. He/she is just very curious. I would set out some yogurt somewhere far from your house where the mouse may find it to distract if from distrubing your home. Mice don't really enjoy cheese all that much and peanut butter is sort of alright but If they're anything like rats they love yogurt.
