It could be a mole but don't complain. When we were cleaning up a woodpile in our back yard, my busband came across a mouse nest. The first thing I did was show it to our yorkies. They went crazy. Where we live, across the street from a hallow, every now and then we will get a mouse during rainy periods, looking for a warm, dry place to stay. All I have to do is ask Reggie, "Where's the mouse?" She will hunt high and low trying to find one. She's a better mouse hunter than any cat I've ever had. So don't complain.
