Oh, I can SO relate on the sleeping thing. Brutal. Unless her incision is reddened or has drainage, I would not worry so much about the warmth. The blood flow to that leg is increased due to healing so might feel a bit warm to touch.
She will have a BM ... sometimes it is 3 or 4 days before they do. I have never had one get constipated.
Usually after a couple of days they switch from ice to heat...but I would check your discharge instructions first....or give them a call and ask.
