How long it takes for meds to kick in isn’t an easy question. Anti seizure meds reach the bloodstream pretty quickly, but individual response varies. And anti seizure meds might not eliminate seizures entirely, they often only reduce the frequency and severity. The vet in this case probably doesn’t know the pup’s complete med history before being dumped at the shelter, so it will be difficult to evaluate until there’s a pattern established.
