That scenario is exactly the type of situation I was referring to. Now I know there is a way to stop the suffering, because the screaming would be more than I could deal with. Like I said, I'd use a hammer if I had to, but the valium sounds like a much better way.

Do Dr's just prescribe them if you ask? Could a vet prescribe them? I can't imagine just walking in and asking my Dr. for a prescription of valium to have on hand for my dogs.
