Unless you live in a high lepto area and your dog could become exposed there is no need for Lepto although if you have fears of reaction to a vaccine you can always give Benadryl before. Joey had reactions as a puppy so he takes Benadryl before his shots and he gets an anti inflammatory med at least the day of and the day after. Ollie had a weird allergic reaction to something outside and got hives and everything and had to go to the ER Vet and they told me he could now be sensitive to vaccine reactions and to give Benadryl before any vaccines so we do that. I also go at least 2 weeks between each vaccine. I personally do not get Lepto but not for fear of the vaccine I just don't need. Mine get their distemper/parvo every 3 years after the one year puppy booster and the same for rabies. We are huge on ticks and lyme in my area so mine get the Lyme vaccine which is every year, and they get the nasal bordatella which is every year and we get that because we got to a lot of places especially dog places and Joey gets put up for dog commercials and stuff.
