So a dose for a dog twice as large is going to be large for him. I'd like to cut the pill in half, but I was told not to because the drugs are a cocktail. The dog that I have left--not a Yorkie--weighs about 15 lbs, so the side effect is not so much. If you look up Ivermectin, lethargy is clearly a common side effect. I just lived with it.

They like the cocktails up in Canada and New York. The danger of Lyme exceeds the danger of Trifexis. My yorkie got Lyme, and I will never know whether it affected him permanently.
I still say what you are saying is not a normal reaction. I have had 6 yorkies none of them ever had this issue and I grew up with 4 other dogs and they never had this reaction. The reason you can not cut the chew is because the medications are not distributed evenly through the chew. There are many preventives that help against ticks with lyme as well as a lyme vaccine. I personally am not a fan of Trifexis there have been lots and lots of reactions to it in small breeds especially but there are much safer options.
