Oh my. Thanks everyone. I'm still on the fence about this. I'm gonna do a photo shoot so at leas I have before pictures. His topknot right now looks week since I cut it while he was wearing the cone and went a bit too short. His eye has healed perfectly and he's seeing great. I've been able to clean the debris around it very well and actually that's because the hair around it has been cut. I've never used the shaver near his eyes before. I used to trim my poodles faces but that was more than 40 years ago. Ugghhhh such a dilemma. Isn't there a groomer coach on this forum????
