Most people get their yorkies neutered as puppies so its very hard to tell if their personalities change because as puppies they are still developing their personalities. It is definitely much better for their health to be neutered and they also wont have to suffer when they smell a female in heat which can be done from a pretty long distance. With yorkies/small breeds research is showing that neutering as puppies has no change in their bone growth. I had my first male neutered at 6 months and everything was great but with my other male I waited closer to 8/9 months and it was the worst mistake ever because he started marking before he was neutered and still occasionally has issues with that. Also yorkies do not always lose all of their baby teeth so you will want the vet to check for any that haven't fallen out when he get neutered so they can go ahead and pull them.
