I don’t think anyone can accurately generalize the personality traits of an entire breed or gender; there are always going to be exceptions to generalizations. However, I also think it’s likely that your pup’s behavior will change in both subtle and less subtle ways as matures, so he could very well become cuddlier as he grows older. Neutering won’t necessarily make him cuddlier, but it’s clearly the best thing for his long range health, and it will also prevent many kinds of undesirable behaviors that non-neutered dogs exhibit when they feel the urge to breed.
My Jax was far too energetic to cuddle at six months, and he was neutered at eight months.(It was delayed several months by pandemic closures.) He does like to cuddle a bit now (at about 15 months) but think that’s more the result of maturity than the neuter surgery. It’s been a gradual change, not an immediate post surgical change. |
