Be sure that the doggie blanket is one Cody's got his scent on or you rub it all over you, or use an unwashed piece of your clothing to place over him, help calm him as you hug him up so close to you, very calmly rock, speak soothingly to him until he settles before you try to put him in your car. A car ride always overhyped my Yorkies.
