All of my Yorkies were hopeless foragers, would eat anything they could find from the yard or kitchen floor so vomiting is fairly common occasionally in younger dogs and usually not worrisome unless repeated and/or other symptoms accompany it. Maybe he just ate something he shouldn't have or fought off a little tummy bug. Vet him if further symptoms. Don't blame you for being worried - it's a mommie thing. Hopefully he's fine from now on.
